Spooky Blood-Orange Halloween Margarita
October 22, 2026 · 3 min read
Give the margarita a Halloween costume. This blood-orange version pours a deep, moody sunset color, gets a dramatic black-salt rim, and still tastes like the crowd-pleaser everyone loves. It is the easiest way to make your party bar look the part.
What you need
Per drink:
- 2 oz blanco tequila
- 1 oz blood orange juice
- 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz orange liqueur
- 0.5 oz agave
- Black lava salt or black-tinted salt for the rim
How to make it
Shake and serve:
- Rim a glass with a lime wedge, then dip in black salt.
- Shake tequila, blood orange, lime, orange liqueur, and agave with ice.
- Strain over fresh ice.
- Garnish with a blood-orange wheel.
Batch it for the party
Multiply the recipe (hold the ice) in a pitcher and chill. Rim the glasses ahead of time and pour to order so it stays crisp. A splash of soda lightens it for a longer party pour.
